Went flying today!

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

Hey everyone.  I went up today in a 172.  Yeah I know thats not as cool as going up in the schools Diamonds but hey flying is fun no matter what you are in.  I took along my Bose Aviation X headset. I have been paying for this headset on a plan for 7 months now but since I havn’t been flying I had yet to try them out and I must say they are worth every penny.  Now some will ask why I spenk 1000 bucks on a headset and I must say because I like toys. But more than that I am going to be doing alot of flying in the next uh lifetime and I figured I might as well be as comfortable as possible, that and they will do a zero interest payment plan with no fees or anything.  Well time to go to class.

Just had to pop in! Great podcast recommendations.

I just wanted to recommend two podcasts to anyone interested in the Airline life. Number on is Fly with me. This podcast is made by a guy named Joe who is a Captain for “A major carrier” He brings us stories from the road as well as other pilots stories.

Number two is Betty in the sky with a suitcase. This one is made by Betty a flight attendant “for a major airline” She tells stories from her traveling experiences, from pilots and other flight attendants. I would highly recommend to anyone that is interested to listen to these, they are full of fun stuff. (You can find their websites using google or download their podcasts using Itunes.) Well later!

I think I did great on my Physics of flight test today! I was really confident walking out of there.

Got my math test back.

Monday, September 25th, 2006

Well I got my math test back. 67 out of 100.  Um… Time to really start working on this.  I am trying to get myself to realize in order to fly I have to get thru this stuff.  It is just so dull.  Well I got a Physics of flight test tomorrow and I had better start studying!
Later

Ugh.. Can I get thru school?

I had a test in my Biology class yesterday, scored a whopping 46% on it.  The grade in the class depends about 80% on 6 tests so I really am going to have to do good on all of the rest.  I was really confident going in and then I just froze as soon as the test was in front of me, I couldn’t think.  Well now it is history and I cant do anything about it.  I just have to do better from here on out.  Now I got a math test today.  I am really not fond of math, so I am a little nervious about this test today.  All I want is to start my Flight training

Hello all!

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Hello my name is Andrew and I am currently going to Utah State University in Aviaton Technology. I know that many pilots wil say that I should not do Aviation Technology as my major so I will have something to fall back on but it is all I am interested in and I dont think I could get thru 4 years doing anything else. I am not yet in flight training so this really will be from day on of the flight training, but I am two years into generals and some ground school, (Physics of flight and stuff). The reason I have yet to do any flight training and everyone that I know in the program is getting ahead of me is because I am currently in an epic battle with the FAA to get my medical certificate. This battle has been going on for a couple of years off and on. When I was younger some “doctor” decided I had ADD because I didn’t like school. Well I personally think that if a 7 year old does like school there is something wrong with that child, not me. It looks like I might finally have this all worked out, I have had a full Psych profile done and the tester said that; “I found no condition that would keep you from safely operating any aircraft.” He put that in a letter to the FAA so I think I should probably get my medical this time. I dont know if anyone will read my posts here. I would like to get responses but just writing this all down will be fun.  To all those that dont know anything about USU aviation program It is very good.  The adverage age of our aircraft is 3 months at the moment.  All very nice diamonds.   http://www.usu.edu/ust/index.cfm?article=9521 The whole program is very top notch so far.  I have been very happy.  More posts to come.

Hello world!
